The third round of the third batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspectors interviewed accountable leading cadres
Journalists learned from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment that the third round, third batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspections have fully entered the stage of on-site inspections. Each inspection team has received reports from the public through phone calls and letters, accepted valid reports, interviewed leading cadres of Party and government, and held leading cadres of Party and government accountable.
The third batch of the third round of central ecological and environmental protection inspection teams successively entered Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Guizhou provinces, as well as China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, Sinochem Holdings Corporation Limited, and China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Limited. As of now, all inspection teams have fully entered the stage of in-depth work.
During the sinking work phase, each supervision team, based on the situation and focused problem clues grasped in the previous phase of supervision, delves into the grassroots, the front lines, and the actual sites. For each province, the focus is on sinking to the prefecture-level cities (states) to supervise and understand the progress and implementation of ecological and environmental protection work. For central enterprises, the focus is on supervising and understanding the ecological and environmental compliance of their affiliated enterprises (units).
As of the specified time on the specified date, the inspection teams have received a total of complaints from the public through phone calls and letters, accepted valid complaints, and after consolidating duplicate reports, have forwarded a cumulative total of cases to the inspected entities. The inspected entities have resolved or partially resolved cases, including initiating legal proceedings against companies; filing criminal investigations for cases; interviewing and admonishing party and government leaders, and holding party and government leaders accountable.
Each inspection team coordinated economic development, livelihood security, and ecological environmental protection, continuously driving the resolution of ecological environmental issues that are prominently reflected by the public, promptly transferring and supervising cases, strengthening random checks and verifications, conducting on-site follow-ups, and listening to the opinions of the people face-to-face. They urged the inspected entities to accurately, scientifically, and lawfully advance rectification while under inspection, addressing specific ecological environmental issues to respond to social concerns.
