The 12th Meeting of the China-Czech Economic and Trade Joint Committee was held in Beijing.
On the date, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, and Piecha, Director-General of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, co-chaired the 12th meeting of the China-Czech Economic Joint Committee in Beijing. Tomšič, the Czech Ambassador to China, attended the meeting.
Ling Ji said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic, pragmatic and friendly cooperation has always been the mainstream of bilateral relations. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Czech Republic in trade, investment, logistics and transportation, new energy, tourism, and other fields, and expand imports of high-tech products, equipment, and specialty goods from the Czech Republic. The Chinese side welcomes Czech enterprises to actively participate in exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo and the China-CEEC Expo, to promote high-quality Czech products, and encourages enterprises from both countries to expand two-way investment.
Ling Ji pointed out that recently, despite the joint calls from the EU and Chinese industries, the European Commission has made a final ruling on the anti-subsidy investigation against Chinese electric vehicles. China does not agree with and does not accept the ruling. The Czech Republic is an important automobile production country in Europe, and China hopes that the Czech side will play a positive role in promoting the EU to demonstrate political will and negotiation sincerity in the Sino-EU electric vehicle consultations.
Pierha stated that the Czech Republic advocates for free trade and opposes protectionism. China is the Czech Republic's second-largest global trading partner. The Czech side places great importance on developing economic and trade cooperation with China, is willing to cooperate with China in the field of new energy vehicles, and simultaneously deepen cooperation in machinery and equipment, agricultural and food products, expand cooperation in emerging industries such as green and low-carbon, artificial intelligence, and jointly promote the healthy and stable development of Czech-Chinese economic and trade relations.
