Vietnamese tea exports to China, booming?
According to the data report from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the month of year, Vietnam's tea export volume reached 35,000 tons, with an export value of 59 million USD, representing year-on-year increases of 1.5% and 1.7% respectively. The average price per ton in the month was 1,686 USD, down 0.3% month-on-month but up 0.2% year-on-year.
In the first months of the year, Vietnam's total tea exports reached . million tons, with an export value of . billion USD, representing year-on-year increases of .% and .%, respectively. The average price for the first nine months was USD/ton, up by .% year-on-year.
It is worth noting that in the first months of this year, Vietnam's tea exports to the Chinese market saw significant growth in both volume and value, increasing by 34.6% and 51.2% respectively year-on-year, with an export volume of 11,000 tons and an export value of 20 million USD.
During the first months of this year, Pakistan was Vietnam's largest tea export market, with exports reaching 10,000 tons, accounting for 40.3% of Vietnam's total tea exports, and export value amounting to 15.6 million USD, representing year-on-year increases of 1.4% and 1.3% respectively.
The types of export products of Vietnamese tea mainly include green tea, black tea, and oolong tea. In the first few months of the year, green tea had the highest export volume, dominating the market, followed by black tea and oolong tea. Green tea is primarily exported to Asian regions, while black tea is mainly exported to both Asian and European regions.
Vietnam has become the world's eighth largest tea exporter. Its export growth is rapid, showing significant potential. Vietnamese tea accounts for a small proportion in the imports of major consumer markets such as the EU, indicating that there is still considerable room for development in the Vietnamese tea market.
