Previously reported on the date, in Le'ping City, Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, a surveillance video posted by a netizen showed that on the evening of the same date, around 7:00 PM, a young girl entered the elevator, followed by a boy. The boy stood behind the girl, first extending his hand to touch her back, and then, as the elevator doors were about to open, he rushed forward to cover her mouth and nose, quickly closing the elevator doors.

The reporter contacted the person who posted the video. They are in the same homeowner group as the girl's father and learned that the incident occurred in their community, inside the elevator of the building where the girl lives. "The perpetrator followed the girl into the elevator and immediately tried to suffocate her. During this time, the elevator doors opened, but the perpetrator quickly closed them and pressed the button for the floor. Upon reaching the floor, the perpetrator carried the girl out. The girl's parents said that the perpetrator likely panicked after encountering passersby on the way and thus released the girl."

According to the chat records from the homeowner's group provided by the netizen, the little girl is only one year old. The girl's family stated that they reported the incident to the police, but the involved boy was released within hours because he is under the age of 14 and is not criminally liable. "The perpetrator was released within hours, the parents did not take any action, and there was no attitude. Every time I watch the video, I am terrified."

The mother of the little girl, during an interview, stated that her daughter was momentarily suffocated when she was covered, "fainted for a moment, but woke up a few seconds later." When the boy involved carried the girl out of the unit door, someone happened to pass by, and the girl was crying, causing the boy to be afraid and put her down. The mother of the little girl also mentioned that she is preparing to file a lawsuit.

According to staff from the local police, the public security authorities have already dealt with the incident, and the involved boy has been punished. As of now, the families of both parties have not reached an agreement on civil compensation.
