This exhibition showcases various possibilities for future transportation, with % of the displayed vehicles being new energy cars.

At the 7th China International Import Expo themed "Travel, Infinite Possibilities for the Future," the automotive section has "spoiled" the limitless potential of future travel. According to the China International Import Expo Bureau, this year's automotive section not only gathers world-renowned vehicle manufacturers but also innovates with new themes, focusing on inviting exhibitors from areas such as autonomous driving, low-altitude economy, and new energy storage (automotive), to collectively showcase the key elements of future travel.

For seven consecutive years, the core position of the Hyundai Motor Group's exhibition booth has been reserved for hydrogen fuel cell technology and products, which are often described as "drinking hydrogen and expelling water." "The growth of Hyundai Motor Group's hydrogen energy business in China has been in sync with the CIIE. Seven consecutive participations in the CIIE have documented the entire process of Hyundai Motor introducing globally leading hydrogen energy industries and products to China and achieving comprehensive implementation," said Yin Yongyi, General Manager of Hyundai Motor China Brand Business.

At the first CIIE, the hydrogen fuel cell models showcased by Hyundai Motors garnered enthusiastic attention from Chinese consumers as soon as they were unveiled. Each year thereafter, Hyundai Motors continued to upgrade and demonstrate the various possibilities of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Last year, Hyundai Motor Group's first overseas hydrogen fuel cell system R&D, production, and sales base in Guangzhou officially began mass production. Now, the hydrogen fuel cell systems produced here are being installed in various models such as logistics vehicles and sanitation vehicles, starting pilot operations. As of now, these vehicles have accumulated over 10,000 kilometers of operation and have received positive feedback from users.

Large-volume hydrogen storage and transportation technology, heavy-duty truck hydrogen storage systems, and hydrogen storage bottles are among Faurecia's key highlights this year, all related to "hydrogen." The company showcased a type of hydrogen storage bottle that, while being lightweight, also enhances vehicle range, with the capability for up to a certain number of charge and discharge cycles.

During the CIIE, Michelin will launch in Asia a puncture-proof tire specifically designed for lunar rovers.

Entering the Michelin exhibition area, there are many "new faces." Natural rubber, carbon black extracted from recycled waste tires, steel recovered from scrap, and even extracts from orange peels, lemon peels, rosin, and sunflower seed oil from nature—these are the raw materials of the Michelin % sustainable material tires that will debut in Asia for the first time. Also making its Asia debut during the CIIE is a puncture-proof tire specially designed for lunar rovers.

The "all-attendance student" of the automotive exhibition area, Volkswagen Group, has a total exhibition area of square meters this year. Among them, the Volkswagen Group's software center in China will publicly display the currently under-development regional control electronic and electrical architecture for the first time. "Over the past four decades since entering China, the country has become the second homeland for the Volkswagen Group," said Bernd Osterloh, Member of the Board of Management responsible for China business, Chairman and CEO of Volkswagen Group (China). International cooperation brings development and prosperity, which is why the CIIE is of extremely important significance to us. We hope to showcase our firm commitment to the Chinese market at the CIIE. In the future, Volkswagen will continue to increase investment in China, especially strengthening product and technology research and development in China. By the year, the group's various brands will launch 75 new models in China, with more than 50 being new energy models.

It is noteworthy that the automotive exhibition area also welcomed a number of "air taxis." At the joint exhibition booth of American company Archer Aviation and Chinese company Fengrui Future, Fengrui Future's "air taxi" will be open to the public for the first time, allowing the public to have the opportunity to get up close and personal with this "black technology" product. Meanwhile, Time Technology has set up its booth to resemble an "airport terminal," where visitors can "book a flight" on their phones, enter the boarding area by scanning a "QR code" at the gate, and sit in their selected seats, imagining the future scenario of commuting to work by "flying."
