In recent years, China not only encourages medical institutions to appropriately over-equip medical devices to enhance the quality and efficiency of medical services but also explicitly emphasizes the importance of medical device informatization, actively promoting the configuration and application of information-based medical devices. This has provided an unprecedented foundation for innovation in the medical device industry. Walking through the medical devices and healthcare section, one of the most "competitive" areas at the 7th CIIE, "world premieres" and innovative products are everywhere. These innovations make "cold" medical devices increasingly warm, and "technology for good" becomes more concrete.
Large Language Model Inspired by "Chinese Inspiration" Makes Global Debut
A smartphone can provide device usage assistance and learning of device functions, allowing questions to be asked through various methods such as voice, text, and images. At the medical exhibition booth, the first large language model product "JiYiDa" developed by a Chinese digital team, despite only requiring a smartphone and a projection screen, still attracted many visitors. This globally launched product, with its rapid and accurate multimedia responses, will help clinicians quickly get started, use devices efficiently and effectively, promote the efficient operation of medical equipment, and especially empower the learning and work of grassroots imaging physicians.
"JiYiDa" is like a seasoned site engineer on call 24/7, capable of providing intelligent, personalized, and comprehensive guidance anytime, anywhere, helping to shorten the user's learning curve. Huang Feng, Chief Digital Officer of Medical China, stated that the development of "JiYiDa" integrates the digital wisdom of Medical China and the global community, marking a pioneering move in the application of large language models in the enterprise sector. It also serves as a "CIIE gift" to commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of the Shanghai Innovation Center. In the future, Medical China will continue to promote the "two-way journey" of digital technology and clinical applications, better empowering clinical doctors and assisting hospitals in improving operational efficiency.
Huang Feng told reporters that the group's strategy for launching any product in China is to combine local needs, integrate global R&D resources, and then collaborate with local production partners for product development. The goal is to empower local users while also enabling Chinese R&D to be promoted globally. After successfully launching this product in China, it will also quickly expand to other markets.
China's first high-pressure injection system approved for Class III licenses inspires innovative inspiration
Andreas Radtke, Global President of Bayer's Imaging Diagnostics Business, is attending the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the first time. He is very pleased to see how corporate innovation is contributing to the development of China's pharmaceutical industry. "Collaboration and innovation have always been Bayer's commitments and practices. Bayer creates 'new quality' through cooperation, driving the 'new' development of China's pharmaceutical industry by engaging in extensive and deep technological collaborations with the industry chain, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. Bayer regards China as an important innovation hub and is committed to promoting cutting-edge, effective, and innovative solutions from China to benefit the global market."
In China, the registration and approval process for Class III medical devices is highly stringent. The approval of high-pressure injection systems has allowed the industry to see the advantages of intelligent and information-based products, especially given the current situation where data collection in the re-recognition of inspection and test results at the grassroots medical level in China is largely lacking. Personalized and precise products will better empower frontline medical staff.
The system features three piston-type injection channels for multi-patient circuits and incorporates information and intelligent modules. Leveraging its advantages of "intelligent efficiency, fast and precise stability," it not only enhances the work efficiency of medical staff but also supports doctors in making accurate diagnoses through information-based clinical solutions.
"CIIE Babies" Land to Provide "Paradigms" for Innovation and Upgrade
Through the CIIE, Abbott has infused new energy into the high-quality development of China's healthcare industry: many of the hundreds of innovative life sciences technologies have already been introduced into the Chinese market through the "CIIE platform."
For instance, the single-chamber leadless pacemaker that made its debut at the 5th CIIE has now been officially approved for market in China; the world's first and currently the only implantable left ventricular assist system to receive approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), the European Union, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also been approved for market and recently welcomed its first implantations.
At this year's CIIE, Abbott launched a dual-chamber implantable leadless pacemaker, the world's first truly synchronized dual-chamber wireless pacemaker, which achieves "interconnected communication" between the two devices via Abbott's proprietary communication technology.
Ying Chen, Global Vice President of Abbott's Core Diagnostics Business, stated that innovation and collaboration will further drive development and health benefits. Over the years, the China International Import Expo has become an excellent platform for interaction and exchange, helping enterprises to engage in in-depth communication with the government and numerous industry partners, continuously exploring new opportunities for cooperation.
