The Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain near Guanabara Bay, Copacabana Beach, and other scenic spots have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Within the Tijuca National Park on Corcovado Mountain, there is a delicate Chinese pavilion with eight-angled eaves, intricately carved with colorful flying dragons. This pavilion was built by the Rio government to honor the contributions of Chinese workers in Brazil for cultivating tea trees using Chinese tea seeds. Today, the Chinese Pavilion stands as a symbol of the friendship between the peoples of China and Brazil.

The venue for this summit is located at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, adjacent to Flamengo Beach, with the garden inside the museum designed by Brazilian landscape architect Burle Marx.
