At noon today (April 1), the first unit of Qinghai Mardang Hydropower Station, a national key energy project, was officially connected to the grid for power generation. Mardang Hydropower Station is located in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai. It is the hydropower station with the highest altitude and the largest installed capacity under construction in the Yellow River Basin.

The installed capacity of the first power generation unit this time has an installed capacity of 550,000 kilowatts and is expected to generate 13.2 million kilowatts of green electricity every day, which can meet the daily electricity demand of 1.1 million households.
