The import and export volume of China's largest railway port exceeded 5 million tons for the first time in the first quarter.

It was learned from China Railway Harbin Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that in the first quarter of this year, Manzhouli Railway Port completed import and export cargo volume of 5.4848 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 754,100 tons, an increase of 15.9%, a record high for the same period in history.

Manzhouli Railway Port is China's largest railway port. As the foreign trade import market continues to expand, the cargo import volume of Manzhouli Railway Port increased by 18.1% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, and the import volume of bulk commodities increased significantly, including coal, iron concentrate, and container traffic volume increased by 49.8%, 21.5%, and 3.1% respectively year-on-year. The imported categories have become more diversified, currently including more than 100 categories such as edible oil, finished paper, grain, and auto parts, to better meet the needs of people's livelihood consumption.

In order to improve the efficiency of train transportation at the port, Manzhouli Station optimizes the transportation plan to minimize cross operations and waiting times, and achieves smooth flow in the entire process of "arrival, cancellation, replacement, compilation and departure" of trains. In order to further improve the efficiency of customs clearance for loading and unloading of import and export goods, the Manzhouli Railway Port has optimized the classification of loading yards for bulk cargo such as coal and mineral powder. Trains have been picked up and delivered at fixed points to reduce the busy time of vehicles. The loading operation has been reduced from the original 10 hours to 8 hours, and the efficiency has been increased by 25%.
