Recently issued by the National Energy Administration, the "Guiding Opinions on Energy Work in 2024" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions") propose that the energy supply security capacity should be continuously enhanced this year, and the total national energy production should reach about 4.98 billion tons of standard coal; the energy structure should be continuously optimized, and the proportion of non-fossil energy power generation installed capacity should be increased to about 55%; the proportion of wind power and solar power generation in the national power generation should reach more than 17%.

The opinions put forward that this year we must continue to put ensuring the country’s energy security in the first place. We must continue to consolidate the positive situation of having “stable and reliable electricity, a guaranteed minimum level of oil and gas, coal as a ballast, and the high-quality leap forward of new energy”.
