On April 9, the 13000TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel-powered large container ship series No. 3 ship "CMA CGM PARATY", built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. and China Shipbuilding Industry Trading Co., Ltd., and known as the world's latest clean energy "Marine Green Giant", was named and delivered at the Changxing Shipbuilding Base of China Shipbuilding Corporation. This marks the addition of another large dual-fuel-powered container ship built by China's "smart" route to the east coast of South America, and also contributes new Chinese momentum to the continued growth and development of CMA's container ship fleet.

The "CMA CGM PARATY" is designed by the 708th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Corporation. It has a total length of 336 meters, a width of 51 meters, and a depth of 26.8 meters. It has a designed service speed of 21 knots and a maximum carrying capacity of 13200 TEUs. It adopts an LNG dual fuel power system and is equipped with a 14000 cubic meter Mark III liquid cargo containment system. It is equipped with the world's advanced CMD-WinGD9X9DF-2.0 mainframe, and is equipped with a global new generation of intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation systems, which can reduce methane escape in gas mode by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%. The ship is specially equipped with a huge wind current guide on the bow, which can save fuel consumption by 2%-4% during actual operation. An energy-saving diversion device is also installed in the stern of the ship, which can improve the propeller propulsion efficiency and reduce energy consumption by about 1.5%. The key is to significantly reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions. Therefore, it has the characteristics of flexible carriers, leading technology, energy conservation and environmental protection. It is the latest generation and latest green, environmentally friendly, efficient and energy-saving container ship in the world.

During the construction of the ship, Hudong-Zhonghua dared to innovate and made breakthroughs, continuously optimizing and expanding the new technologies and methods for digital construction, with remarkable results. 3D vision technology was applied 100% throughout the ship, including precise detection of steel plate defects, digital container testing, and digital hatch cover stowage, which significantly improved construction efficiency and achieved new records for the best integrity of the series of ships leaving the dock and the fastest sea trial, making every effort to create a new brand of large Chinese container ships.

As an innovative leader in the construction of large and ultra-large container ships in China, Hudong Zhonghua successfully built and delivered the world's first 23000TEU LNG dual-fuel-powered container ship in 2020, writing a historic leap from "Made in China" to "Created in China". A new chapter. So far, Hudong Zhonghua has delivered more than 70 large and ultra-large container ships. It is particularly worth mentioning that the world's first and largest LNG-powered 24000TEU container ship, which has attracted much attention, is under intensive construction and is scheduled to be completed and delivered in 2025.

The naming and delivery of "CMA CGM PARATY" fully demonstrates China Shipbuilding Group's strong R & D, design, construction and supporting capabilities as a world-class shipbuilding group, and further consolidates its strategic cooperation relationship with CMA CGM Group. At the same time, it also marks the continuous improvement of Hudong Zhonghua in the process of accelerating industrial structural adjustment, building the entire liquefied natural gas (LNG) industrial chain, and strengthening large and ultra-large container ships.
