It is hoped that the US and China will uphold the basic principles of a market economy that features fair competition and open cooperation, and avoid politicizing or securitizing economic and trade issues. Yellen said that under mutual efforts, the China-US relationship has become more stable. As the world's top two economies, China and the US should manage their economic relationship responsibly. The US appreciates the progress in the China-US economic dialogue and cooperation, does not seek "decoupling" from China, and is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their meeting in San Francisco.
