Among them, the Tanjianshan gold deposit located on the northern edge of the Qaidam Basin and the Wulonggou gold deposit on the southern edge of the Qaidam Basin are the most representative large and superlarge gold deposits in Qinghai Province, and are also demonstration mines integrating "scientific research-exploration-development" in Qinghai Province.

The multi-stage characteristics of large-scale gold mineralization in the northern and southern margin of the Qaidam Basin and the multi-stage regional structural and magmatic hydrothermal activities have led to insufficient understanding of gold metallogenic laws and ore-controlling factors in the study area. In addition, the low level of deep gold positioning prediction research and single technical means restrict the rapid evaluation and prospecting breakthroughs in deep gold deposits.

The project carried out research on the theory and technical methods of deep gold prospecting in the northern and southern margins of the Qaidam Basin, and proposed the coupling relationship between large-scale gold metallogenic events in the southern and northern margins of the Qaidam and collision orogeny between the original Tethyan Ocean and the Paleo-Tethyan Ocean. and post-collision orogeny, and established the Tanjianshan and Wulonggou gold metallogenic models and three three-dimensional geological models of the main Qaidam gold ore fields; An effective method combination system for deep prospecting in Wulonggou and Tanjianshan has been developed, 1 deep exploration demonstration project has been established, and 12 deep prospecting targets have been submitted.
