On the afternoon of March 1, the Standing Committee of the Ninth People's Congress of Baoshan District held its 18th meeting. The meeting voted to appoint Deng Xiaodong as deputy mayor of the Baoshan District People's Government, and also decided that Deng Xiaodong should be the acting mayor of the Baoshan District People's Government.

Li Ping, director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, presided over the meeting. A total of 38 members of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, including deputy directors Wu Zhihong, Wang Liyan, Xu Huawei, Gu Jin, and Lu Jun, attended the meeting.

Deng Xiaodong took the constitutional oath and made a speech on his appointment.
