On February 28, Unit 2 of Huadian International Tianjin Development Zone Branch was shut down and put into standby. So far, the 350-megawatt supercritical circulating fluidized bed boiler supporting the unit has achieved safe operation for 537 days, setting a new record for the same type of boiler in China according to statistics from China Electricity Council. The highest record of continuous safe operation of 367 days.

Due to its combustion characteristics and wear of heating surfaces, the leakage of water walls caused by circulating fluidized bed boilers has always been a problem that has plagued their long-term safe operation. It is also a "stuck neck" problem that the industry is striving to solve breakthroughs. In order to effectively improve the safe operation cycle of this type of boiler, Huadian International Tianjin Development Zone Branch established a boiler anti-wear research team at the beginning of design and construction. Based on investigating and analyzing the frequency and causes of water wall leaks that occurred in 17 boilers of the same type when put into operation, the company invested more than 10 million yuan and innovatively implemented the anti-wear plan of installing heat conduction grids on the boiler water wall. While not affecting heat conduction, it further optimizes the combustion flow field in the boiler and reduces the speed of wall-adhering flow in stages. Thus, the effect of slowing down the wear of water walls is achieved, and the "stuck neck" problem of leaks occurring in the boiler during short-term operation is solved from a technical level. The project results formed by this plan have won many awards in the selection of management innovation achievements in the power industry, China Workers 'Technology Association and China Huadian Group Co., Ltd., providing practical solutions for the anti-wear work of similar types of boilers.

After the new machine was put into production, the company based on advanced prevention and integrated the concept of condition-based maintenance into anti-wear and explosion management. Based on the locations of four pipe leaks in the same type of units over the years and the evaluation results of the heating surface life, it formulated detailed heating surface treatment plans and anti-wear and explosion inspection implementation plan, through cross-check and other inspection methods and methods, it achieved precise management and control of "one picture, one table, one report", laying a solid foundation for the safe and stable operation of the unit over a long period. In view of the problems of easy coking in the bed of this type of boiler and difficulty in controlling the particle size of coal, the operators have found effective measures such as regularly disturbing the primary air volume of the furnace and enhancing the crushing capacity of the coal crusher through many tests, which has promoted the operation of the equipment. Double improvement in sex and stability. Through solid and effective equipment management work, the unit won two awards in 2023:"5A" class circulating fluidized bed generator units in the power industry and the best coal consumption unit for power supply.
