In recent years, the new energy industry represented by wind power and photovoltaics has achieved vigorous development, injecting strong momentum into promoting energy transformation. As a world-class clean energy group, China General Nuclear Power Group (hereinafter referred to as "CGNPC"), while focusing on the development of nuclear power, has also frequently made investments in the field of new energy, achieving breakthroughs in many aspects. In 2023, CGNPC will add more than 10 million kilowatts of domestic new energy installed capacity, and the annual on-grid electricity will exceed 73 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 22%. To promote the high-quality development of new energy, we should adhere to the principle of equal emphasis on scale and efficiency, and use new development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing to grasp, measure and promote development. At the same time, it is necessary to adhere to high-level foreign cooperation, establish a community of interests in the industrial chain, and achieve strong cooperation and win-win sharing.

In 2024, we will continue to unswervingly follow the path of high-quality development and strive to build CGNPC New Energy into an important position and leader in the development of new quality productivity in the new energy industry. In this context, in 2024, CGNPC New Energy will promote industrial innovation and industrial development through scientific and technological innovation and improve the scientific and technological innovation system. We will deeply grasp the development trend of cross-border integration and smart integration of new energy, actively promote the development strategies of "solar heat +","offshore +" and "green power +", focusing on the development of solar heat, far-reaching offshore wind power, offshore photovoltaics, hydroammonia alcohol, etc. We will tackle scientific and technological challenges in the field, comprehensively build a smart operation and maintenance system, promote high-end and intelligent industries, and ensure strategic initiative. How do you view this achievement? What strength has CGNPC New Energy contributed to the development of the new energy industry?

General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during the 12th collective study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee that China is rich in wind power, photovoltaic and other resources and has huge potential for developing new energy sources. This year's government work report also proposed to strengthen the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases and transmission channels to promote the development and utilization of distributed energy. At the same time, China's new energy industry will achieve remarkable results in 2023, with the proportion of installed capacity exceeding that of thermal power for the first time. This has inspired and confident practitioners in our new energy industry.

China ranks first in the world in the cumulative installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaics, and its wind and photovoltaic industrialization technology is in a leading position in the world. I believe that the new energy industry is currently in the ascendant. With the strong promotion of the "double carbon" goal, China's new energy industry, which is dominated by scenery, will also enter an accelerated development stage.

Regarding CGNPC, as early as 2007, we built the first wind power project-CGNPC Jilin Dagangzi Wind Farm. After 17 years of development, CGNPC New Energy has embarked on the fast lane of high-quality development. In 2023, CGNPC's new installed capacity and newly approved and registered project capacity will reach record highs, and the cumulative installed capacity will exceed 45 million kilowatts, making it the main force in China's new energy development.

Along the way, we have closely followed the changes of the times and the energy revolution, and have always been at the forefront of the development of the new energy industry. We have participated in the construction of the first large-scale offshore wind power project in China, built the first large-scale commercial trough solar thermal power station, and created the first A research and pilot project for the integrated development of offshore wind power and marine ranches. In the past year, we have completed and put into operation the CGNPC's 3-million-kilowatt wind power project in Xing 'an League in Inner Mongolia and the CGNPC's 1-million-kilowatt offshore wind power project in Huizhou Port. We have started the construction of a large-scale pile-based offshore fixed photovoltaic project-the CGNPC Yantai Zhaoyuan 400,000-kilowatt offshore photovoltaic project, and are accelerating the promotion of a number of "light and heat +" characteristic base projects such as Yumen, Gansu and Delingha Phase II in Qinghai.

What are the current bottlenecks in the development of China's new energy industry? What measures do you suggest you take to deal with it?

In recent years, the development of China's new energy industry has continued to accelerate. In 2023, the country will add approximately 290 million kilowatts of new wind and solar installed capacity, exceeding the total of new installed capacity in the previous two years. The new energy power consumption situation is severe, and the power grid consumption space is "stretched". At present, grid-side regulation is still the main solution to new energy consumption. However, as the degree of marketization of the industry continues to increase, the subsequent use of grid-side regulation and marketization means to continue to explore new development models should solve the problem of consumption and ensure the industry. Important measures for sustainable development.

Therefore, first, it is recommended to speed up the planning and construction of UHV transmission channels. The construction cycle of UHV transmission channels far exceeds that of traditional wind power and photovoltaic projects. Considering the "14th Five-Year Plan" and "15th Five-Year Plan" periods, the country's planned Shago Wasteland Transportation Base alone will exceed 300 million kilowatts, and the matching UHV channel construction needs to speed up planning and construction.

Second, it is recommended to promote the construction of new energy storage and other peak shaving power sources. At the policy level, measures such as encouraging the construction of shared energy storage and encouraging independent energy storage projects to participate in the electric energy market and auxiliary service market can be taken to accelerate the layout of peak shaving power supplies and expand the scale of grid-connected consumption of new energy sources.

The third is to recommend promoting the construction of new energy composite projects. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", new technologies and new models such as "new energy + green hydrogen ammonia alcohol" and "photovoltaic + desertification control" have continued to emerge, which have become an important starting point for promoting the construction of new power systems and realizing energy transformation. Through the construction of new energy composite projects, explore new technologies, encourage new models, and achieve nearby and local consumption of new wind power and photovoltaics.

The fourth is to recommend improving the construction of new energy policies and mechanisms. At this stage, new energy has become one of the new driving forces for China's economic development.
