BERLIN, June 3 (Reuters) – Only 13% of Germans rate the economic situation positively, the lowest level since the euro crisis of the late 2000s, according to an infratest dimap poll for ARD-DeutschlandTrend published Wednesday. The figure is down 7 percentage points since January.

The survey, conducted June 1-2 among 1,326 eligible voters (791 by telephone, 535 online), has a margin of error of 2-3 percentage points. The economy has overtaken migration as the top political task, cited by 27% of respondents, while migration ranks second at 21%.

Personal economic expectations remain bleak: 38% of respondents expect their personal economic situation to worsen over the next 12 months, and only 6% expect improvement. In eastern Germany, nearly one in two expects deterioration.

The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) leads the Sunday voting question with 27%, unchanged from the previous month. The CDU/CSU bloc fell 1 point to 23%, its lowest level since January 2022. The Greens dropped 1 point to 14%, the SPD gained 1 point to 13%, and the Left party held steady at 10%.

Satisfaction with the work of the black-red coalition government – comprising the CDU/CSU and SPD – fell to a new record low of 12%, down 1 point from the previous month's trough.

The CDU's policy of excluding cooperation with the AfD divides the electorate: 47% of respondents consider it correct, and 47% consider it wrong. Among party supporters, all except AfD voters back the exclusion policy. By contrast, 56% of respondents consider the CDU's exclusion of the Left party wrong, while 33% consider it correct.
