According to the latest data disclosed by foreign media, Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President of the United States, raised more than one billion dollars more in campaign funds than her Republican counterpart, Donald Trump, during the third quarter. However, the latest polls show that the race between Harris and Trump remains tight.

According to a report in the Financial Times, in the third quarter, the Harris campaign team and related organizations raised a total of $104 million, while Trump's side raised $106 million. The latest data from the website of the U.S. Federal Election Commission shows that all presidential candidates running in 2024 have collectively raised approximately $7.7 billion. Among them, Democrats raised $4.1 billion, and Republicans raised $3.6 billion.

This video live stream image, taken at the Presidential Debate Media Center in Philadelphia, USA, on a certain date, shows US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Harris (right) and former US President and Republican presidential candidate Trump participating in a televised debate in Philadelphia.

From the existing data, Trump's campaign team and related organizations have raised $X million in this election cycle, with nearly half coming from super PACs, which are not subject to individual contribution limits. Harris and the campaign of the withdrawn Democratic presidential candidate Joseph Biden have raised $Y million, approximately Z% of which came from super PACs. According to the Financial Times, the extent to which both camps rely on super PACs will be further clarified on the 15th of this month, when the two super PACs supporting Harris are required to disclose their fundraising figures for the month.

Meanwhile, the Harris team continued the Democratic campaign's tradition of "burning money," spending $100 million per month, while the Trump team spent $50 million. Throughout this election cycle, Biden and Harris collectively "burned" $1.5 billion, while Trump spent $1 billion.

The wealthy class supporting Harris and Trump is evenly matched. Three super-rich individuals backing Trump, Elon Musk, Miriam Adelson, and Dick Uihlein, contributed about a third of his fundraising total in the third quarter alone. Trump also received support from nearly a hundred other super-rich individuals. Harris, on the other hand, received endorsements from at least a hundred wealthy individuals, including notables like Melinda Gates, former COO of Meta (formerly Facebook) Sheryl Sandberg, and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings.

Although Harris's ability to "attract funds" and "spend money" surpasses Trump's, the latest poll from the Clarity Politics website shows that with only three weeks left until the presidential election on the 3rd, the race between the two remains tight. The average of national polls in the U.S. from the 1st to the 3rd shows that Harris's support rate leads Trump by 0.3 percentage points. The average of polls in seven key "swing states" on the 3rd shows that Trump slightly leads in six of them, while Harris only has a slight edge in Wisconsin.
