On March 26, the daily production capacity of the wellhead of Qinshui coalbed gas field in Huabei Oilfield exceeded 7 million cubic meters, marking that the annual production capacity of China's largest coalbed gas field has reached 2.5 billion cubic meters.

Coalbed methane, commonly known as gas, is a dangerous "killer" in coal mining. It is also a clean energy and strategic resource whose calorific value is higher than that of general coal and whose combustion produces almost no waste gas. Countries around the world are competing to develop and utilize it.

Huabei Oilfield strives to be self-reliant and self-reliant in high-level science and technology. It has innovated and tackled key problems for many years. It has built China's first mining pilot test base in the field of petroleum coalbed methane. It has created high-rank coalbed methane in high-rank reservoirs that are generally considered to be a "forbidden zone" for exploration and development. The methane diversion and development method has filled gaps at home and abroad and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Supported by new development methods and technologies, Huabei Oilfield has built China's first digital and large-scale coalbed gas field, with a proportion of high-yield wells exceeding 49%, and a production capacity rate exceeding 95%.

In order to further release the production capacity of the Qinshui coalbed gas field, Huabei Oilfield launched the project of uploading the Mabi Cooperation Block to the Qinshui Sub-transmission Compressor Station of the West-East Gas Pipeline. In August 2023, the second pipeline from the Qinshui coalbed gas field to the national backbone pipe network was successfully completed, which can increase the pipeline export capacity by 1.5 billion cubic meters every year, forming a new pattern of dual-channel export of coalbed methane. As a result, the export capacity of the coalbed methane pipeline in South Shanxi of North China Oilfield reaches 3.5 billion cubic meters per year, adding confidence to ensure natural gas supply in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as well as Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and other regions in winter.

Since the beginning of this year, Huabei Oilfield has strengthened the production capacity construction in Zhengzhuang, Fanzhuang, Mabidong and other blocks, promoted the decline control of old wells, the continuous production of new wells, and increased production of low-yield wells, and implemented the "Four Major Stable Production Projects" and "Five Major Projects". Efficiency Improvement and Guarantee Project "and" Transformation and Upgrading Project "lay a solid foundation for stable and stable production of gas fields.
