During the first three quarters of this year, China's installed capacity and generation of renewable energy have further improved. The national renewable energy generation reached . trillion kWh, an increase of .% year-on-year, accounting for approximately .% of the total power generation.
Among these, the combined generation of wind and solar power reached 1. trillion kWh, an increase of .% year-on-year, roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry during the same period, and surpassing that of urban and rural residential electricity consumption.
This is the situation introduced by Zhang Xing, Deputy Director-General of the General Office of the National Energy Administration, at the press conference held by the National Energy Administration on the designated date.
Zhang Xing stated that by the end of the month, the cumulative installed capacity of hydropower across the country had reached . billion kilowatts. Among this, conventional hydropower accounted for . billion kilowatts, and pumped storage hydropower was . million kilowatts. The national hydropower generation capacity for above-scale hydropower plants was . trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of % year-on-year; the average utilization hours for hydropower were hours, an increase of hours year-on-year.
As of the end of the month, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power connected to the national grid reached . billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of .%. Among this, onshore wind power accounted for . billion kilowatts, and offshore wind power accounted for . million kilowatts. The national wind power generation reached . billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of .%; the national average utilization rate of wind power was .%, down . percentage points year-on-year.
The installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation nationwide reached 3.28 billion kilowatts, an increase of 15.2% year-on-year. Among this, centralized photovoltaic power generation accounted for 2.16 billion kilowatts, and distributed photovoltaic power generation accounted for 1.12 billion kilowatts.
