The 2024 Annual Meeting of the China Development Forum opens in Beijing on March 24. Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Lu Hao, Chinese Chairman of the forum and Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, presided over the opening ceremony; Evan Greenberg, foreign Chairman of the forum and Chairman and CEO of Anda Group, delivered a speech.

The forum was hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council and hosted by the China Development Research Foundation. State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wu Zhenglong, World Bank President Peng Anjie, International Monetary Fund President Georgieva, and domestic and foreign experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, government officials and representatives of international organizations attended the opening ceremony. During the two-day forum, guests exchanged and discussed the theme of "Sustainable Development of China".

This forum consists of an opening ceremony, special seminars, closed-door meetings and other links. On the afternoon of the 24th, the forum held three parallel symposiums on the themes of carbon neutrality and global climate governance, artificial intelligence development and governance, and big health industry. Zhang Junting, President of Rongcheng Group and Chairman of Rongcheng Iron and Steel Group, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and gave an exchange speech titled "Green Manufacturing Leads a Sustainable Future" during the special seminar on "Carbon Neutralization and Global Climate Governance".

In her speech, Zhang Junting emphasized that under the global civilization initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, especially under the guidance of "developing new productive forces according to local conditions", China is constantly moving forward on the path of high-quality development and is full of confidence in achieving the "double carbon" goal. Based on the steel industry, the basic industry of the national economy, she shared Rongcheng Group's practical experience and forward-looking thinking in green and low-carbon transformation around the three keywords of "energy transformation, recycling, and technological reshaping."

Zhang Junting first pointed out that the core of the carbon-neutral transformation path of China's iron and steel industry lies in the adjustment of energy structure. Rongcheng Group actively promotes energy reform, adopting clean energy, building photovoltaic power generation projects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, speeding up the development of hydrogen energy, and building the first demonstration project of hydrogen energy transport in Tianjin. Coal and other raw materials and steel products in the city to achieve clean transportation. Secondly, the recycling of renewable resources and waste materials is a new manufacturing way to create value and reduce carbon emissions, which is a strategic choice to achieve sustainable development. Rongcheng Group adopts advanced short process technology of intelligent electric furnace to greatly reduce energy consumption, promote industrial water cycle and waste heat and gas cycle, and continuously promote the development of low-carbon cycle. Finally, relying on the reshaping of science and technology, through original and subversive new technologies, we can cultivate and develop new productive forces, bring new models, reshape the global industrial chain, and add impetus to industrial transformation and economic upgrading. Rongcheng Group is speeding up the construction of "5G +" smart factory, building intelligent environmental protection and ultra-low emission control system and intelligent transportation platform, and striving to become a green factory with digital production, waste recycling and low-carbon energy.

Looking to the future, Zhang Junting said that Rongcheng Group will always adhere to the concept of building a century-old green enterprise, constantly explore models of harmonious coexistence with nature, focus on low-carbon manufacturing, and work together with industrial chain partners to jointly promote green and low-carbon models and high-quality recycling of renewable resources., accelerate the development of green economic forms such as "steel +" and "car +", work together to reduce carbon footprints, and continuously tap the driving force for sustainable growth. She also called on all parties to strengthen international cooperation, jointly address climate change, and build a harmonious and symbiotic earth home through in-depth cooperation in fields such as green manufacturing and clean energy.

The China Development Forum adheres to the purpose of "dialogue with the world and seeking common development" and focuses on releasing China's signal of opening up to the outside world. Since its establishment in 2000, it has developed into an important platform for serving central decision-making and the country's foreign economic exchanges, and promoting exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises.
