According to the official website of State Grid Corporation of China, on March 27, 2024, State Grid Corporation of China held a meeting for middle-level and above managers. Relevant responsible comrades of the Organization Department of the Central Committee announced the decision of the Party Central Committee on the adjustment of the main responsible comrades of State Grid Co., Ltd.:Comrade Zhang Zhigang was appointed Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Co., Ltd., and was relieved of his post as General Manager of State Grid Co., Ltd.; Comrade Xin Baoan was relieved of his post as Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Co., Ltd. The appointment and removal of relevant posts shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and articles of association.

Zhang Zhigang has worked in the power system for a long time. According to the official website of Tsinghua University, Zhang Zhigang was admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1982. After graduating from his undergraduate degree, he stayed in the Power Generation Teaching and Research Section and served as a teaching assistant and student political counselor. In 1992, he received a master's degree in power systems and automation from Tsinghua University. He has served as dispatcher, director of the Production Technology Department of North China Electric Power Management Bureau, director of Zhangjiakou Power Supply Bureau, deputy director and director of North China Electric Power Dispatching Bureau, deputy chief engineer and director of North China Electric Power Group, deputy director and director of the National Electric Power Dispatching and Communication Center, assistant to the general manager, deputy general manager, and member of the party group of State Grid Co., Ltd. On May 28, 2021, he served as director, general manager and deputy secretary of the party group of State Grid Co., Ltd.

Xin Baoan was born in October 1960 and served as chairman and party secretary of State Grid Co., Ltd. since January 2021. He will turn 63 years old in 2024.

On the same day, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced that the State Council appointed and removed state functionaries and appointed Song Hongkun as deputy director of the National Energy Administration.

Public information shows that Song Hongkun has served as Director of the Market Supervision Department of the National Energy Administration, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Central China Supervision Bureau of the National Energy Administration, and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Commissioner of the Jiangsu Supervision Office of the National Energy Administration.
