It reflects the great importance attached by the municipal party committee and municipal government to the crystal silicon photovoltaic industry and will promote the development of Leshan City's crystal silicon photovoltaic industry into a new stage.

It is understood that Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is the birthplace of the national polysilicon and photovoltaic industry and the main producer of polysilicon in Sichuan. It has complete basic facilities, leading core technology industries, and concentrated industrial development.

On March 11, Chen Guanghao, deputy secretary of the Leshan Municipal Party Committee and mayor, said in an interview with the media that Leshan is the birthplace and main producer of polysilicon in the country, with unique resource advantages, talent technology advantages, leading agglomeration advantages, and industrial cluster advantages.

Chen Guanghao introduced that in recent years, Leshan has insisted on developing the crystal silicon photovoltaic industry as the "number one project" and has focused on building China's green Silicon Valley. Currently, 5 of the world's top 10 photovoltaic companies have invested in Leshan and have more than 500 independent patents of various types, including 67 high-value invention patents, which have exceeded electronic-grade high-purity crystal silicon technology, and the product purity has reached 11 9; It has advanced production technologies in the "Yongxiang Method" and "Fluidized Bed Method" industries, and the energy consumption per unit of product is leading the industry's advanced value. Leshan has formed a production capacity of 360,000 tons of silicon material, 67GW of rod cutting, and 38GW of slicing. In 2023, the output value of the crystal silicon photovoltaic industry will be 83.62 billion yuan, and its production capacity and shipments will rank first in the world.
