香港特区政府文化体育及旅游局4月5日表示，截至3月26日，中国香港队已经在5 major disciplines including cycling, sailing, swimming, table tennis, and windsurfing ，取得巴黎奥运会15个比赛项目的参赛资格， 也在硬地滚球等3大项，取得巴黎残奥会12个比赛项目的参赛资格。

A spokesman for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government said that candidates for some events have been confirmed. For example,"Hong Kong Female Flying Fish" Ho Shipei will compete in the women's 50-meter, 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle, as well as the 100-meter breaststroke.

Hong Kong, China also has hopes of qualifying for six major events, namely athletics, badminton, fencing, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon.

The HKSAR government will be actively promoting the Paris Olympics, enhancing community's enthusiasm for the Olympics, and cheering for athletes, spokesman said.

The HK SAR Government's Leisure and Cultural Services Department plans to set up Spectator Stands in designated sports centres to broadcast or replay events live during the Games. The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China will launch a four-month promotion campaign starting this month, partnering with the Hong Kong French Cultural Association to organise language and cultural experiences for athletes and journalists, in the lead-up to the Paris Games.
